I am freshman at the University of Nebraska and am currently studying Journalism and Broadcast Media Production. In addition to my double major, I plan on minoring in English and Political Science. Outisde of the CoJMC I am a Husker Creative Media Intern and create social media content for Husker volleyball, wrestling, and softball. In my hometown of La Vista NE, I do freelance videography and photography not only for a source of income, but for social and professional experience. A couple of things people might not know about me is that I have a twin sister and play mellophone for the Cornhusker Marching Band!
Even though I am not fully decided on a career goal, I would like to get involved in political journalism. The dream would be living in New York and/or Washington DC where I would cover major political events, legislation, and individuals. If I do not enjoy working in the poltical landscape, I see myself staying with sports and being a full time social media manager for a division one athletic program. After developing my resume/experience, I see myself pursuing an EVEN HIGHER level of education to be a professor of professional journalism.
My hobbies entail photography, videography, and the editing processes associated with both crafts. I also enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and two mini australian dogs. When it's warm outside, I like to go for runs around the capitol!
